Winners this month are:
           Cindy from Texas
           Martha from Florida
           Geraldine from Arizona
           Tammy from Washington
           Sue from Maine
Congratulations to them all. Their prize has been sent out via the mail Saturday.

     New Sales reps:
We have taken on 2 new sales reps, they are:
          Anabelle Heckathorn from California
          Joni Trevino from Texas
Anabelle has already sent in her first order.

     New Scents:
We've gotten 3 new scents, Sugared Shortbread (A Bath & Body Works discontinued scent), Pumpkin Pie (This one was a problem for me. It necessitated a pie run last week it smelled so good), and Vanilla Mint This was also a problem. My wife made some soap with this and we had to go get some Spearmint
leaf gum drops).

We're doing a fund raiser for the Washington Hunt Elementary School PTA this weekend. We were one of their vendors last year and were one of their largest donors. 20% of all retail sales for the next month will be donated to them if the customer mentions the school.

Here are some tips to help skin feel more comfortable during winter.:

1.Use a humidifier. Heated air tends to be dry and dries our the skin.
2.Switch to an oil-based moisturizer and moisturize frequently. Moisturize daily. Cream                      moisturizers are best for normal to dry skin.
3.Hydrate! The drying effects of indoor heated air mandate you drink your full 8 glasses of
             water a day.
4.Don't overdo skin cleansing. Once a day is sufficient. Too much cleansing removes the
             skin's natural moisturizers.
5.Take short, lukewarm showers or baths and use non-irritating, non-detergent- based
cleansers. Immediately after your shower or bath, apply a water-in-oil-type moisturizer
and gently pat your skin dry.
6.Protect yourself from the wind by covering your face.
7.Protect your skin from the sun. Winter sun can be as dangerous as summer sun. Use a
sunscreen of SPF 15 or greater.
8.Don't Forget to Exfoliate: Keep a gentle body scrub and a less abrasive facial exfoliant in
the shower and remember to use them both once or twice a week. This gets rid built-up
dead skin cells and exposes a fresh layer of skin ready to suck up all the moisturizer you're             going to apply when you step out of the tub.
9.Stop Licking Your Lips: We've all been guilty of this assault on our kissers: When our lips             feel dry, we lick them. Of course, this only leaves them more chapped. Keep a tube or jar of             lip balm with you at all times, and apply every time you get the temptation to lick those dry             lips.
10.Exercise: Exercise increases blood flow and thus the supply of oxygen and nutrients to
your skin. These factors help skin look dewy and firm, undermining dry skin's brittle
             stiffness.

June News 2009 Letter

June, the month for Fathers day, graduations, June brides and the month you reacquaint yourself with your neighbors. The month all school children have been looking forward to, although the month few parents have been anticipating.

It has been a busy month here at Akron Grove. We received an invitation to the Association of Artisan Businesses, joined the Minority Professional Network, got featured on Business Owners Cafe, got certified as a Trust Worthy Website, signed the Truth in Labeling Pledge, Got certified as a Green Business, and joined the Indie Beauty Network. We also got our second review from Beauty Xpose. It is listed on our press page.

    Winners this month are:

Diane from Hot Springs National Park AR
   Jennifer from Cibolo TX
   Erin from San Diego, CA
   Renard from Jackson Michigan
   Marley from St. Michaels, MD

Congratulations to them all. We wish we could send everyone that signed the guest book a gift. The results for the guest book were rather disappointing last month only 21 people signed up. This was good for those that did sign; it gave them a 1 in 4 chance of winning. Tell all your friends and relatives about our drawing and maybe they could win also.

The product of the month is: Body Splash
Scent of the Month is Coconut Lime.

May 2009 News Letter

Happy Mothers Day. Happy Cinco de Mayo.

We have started a new promotion. We will be offering a differently scented LARGE Bath Muffin every month. This large (full cupcake size) bath muffin will be available from our home page and no where else on our site. The featured scent of the month is Pomegranate/Sweet Orange.

Our Grandkids have started playing Baseball this year. Her first time out our Grandson made a hit and our Granddaughter scored a run.

We received a nice letter from one of our regular customers.  Here is a copy of it.

Hello Mr/Mrs Rug,
I wanted to tell you that I love the Bubblebombs I purchased from you! I like the way the water gets color. There was a lot of bubbles too, a definite winning product!
I will continue to be a customer due to your great products and good prices.

                                                                          Sunbury, Ohio
Thank You, Rachel. It is nice knowing that what we do is appreciated.

We have managed to gain 2 top links (direct links) on Google for the search terms Bath Products. We also have an additional 5 indirect links in the first 800 results. Not too shabby for over 24,000,000 results. How we did this is a mystery to me but I am just thankful.

We are now affiliated with a florist. Their link is on our home page. We received a boquet of rises from them and I was impressed. Now only did they send the roses but it came with a glass vase and chocolate truffles. This is the first time we have affiliated with anyone else but the quality of the products was so good that I thought our customers would appreciate them.

There is a new soaps page. This is where we will be posting our newest scent creations.  The 4 new soaps are Grapefruit/Mint, Cornmeal, Lemongrass/Grapefruit/ Sandalwood, and Peach Tea.  They are also packaged a little differently than our usual soaps. The link is

We recently joined The Association of Artisan Businesses and The Minority Professional Network (we are a woman owned company), both fine organizations.
