Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is soap?
A: Soap is the oldest cleanser around. It is created by a chemical reaction between oils, water and lye. Although lye is used to make soap there is no lye left after saponification (the chemical   reaction that makes soap) is complete. There is no such thing as a bar of soap that was made without the use of lye. Different kinds of    soap are made using a variety of different oils. Both animal & plant oils can be used in the soap making process, each adding different qualities to the soap.

Q: How does your soap differ from that which I buy in the store?
A: Our soap is just that, soap made the convential way. Much of the soap available in the store today is not really soap at all, but a detergent. As such, our soap does not have all the chemicals store bought "Soap" has.

Q: What differences will I see with your soap?
A: Initally, you will find our soap doesn't foam as much as you are used to. Most commercial "soap" has chemicals in it just to make foam. These are the same chemicals that make your eyes sting  when you get it in them. Secondly, you will notice that our soap doesn't dry out the skin as much as commercial "soaps".

Q: What ingredients are in your soap?
A: Cocoa butter soap, Palm oil soap, Castor seed oil, Safflower oil, Glycerine, Water, Sorbitol  (A humectant that leaves skin with a velvety feeling. Derived from fruits, seaweed, and algae. Similar to naturally occurring glycerin) , Sorbitan Oleate (Soybean Protein).

Q: How are your bath products different from store bought products?
A: If you read the ingredients in most commercial bath products, the    first thing listed is usually water along with a bunch of things you can't  pronounce . If you wanted to put water on your skin, just go to the sink.  There is plenty of water there and NOT at $15.00 a bottle. We don't feel you need to buy water from us.

Q: Do you use preservatives in your products?

A: For your own protection, we do.  Any product that contains water or could possibly have water introduced during use, should have a preservative to prevent the growth of bacterial yuckies.  Our preservative of choice is PARABEN free, Liquid Germall Plus.
When we made the decision to use a preservative in our lotion formulations for our clients safety, we went to the experts, and told them we wanted a safe, mild, preservative that would inhibit the growth of bacteria, yeasts, molds and organisms in our products. They recommended Germall Plus.

Q: What is the shelf life of your products?
A: We recommend you use our products within 1 year of purchase. Our homemade bath products are made with a minimum of chemicals and we don't recommend using them past then. Unfortunatly, even though we use extrordinary care in making our products safe, using them introduces microorganisms from the water you use into them that might cause spoilage.

Q: Do you test on animals?
No, our products are not tested on animals... only friends & family.

Q: Do you offer vegan products?
Yes, several of our products are vegan friendly. Please contact us to request information.

Q: Can I get your products in another scent from those listed?
A: Yes! The scents listed are the most popular scents people have selected. Because our products are custom made to order, you can select any scent you want for most of our items. Just E-Mail us with your scent  selection, and we'll make it that way.

Q: What are fragrance oils?
A: Fragrance oils are "compounded scents" that are to be used safely as perfume.  They are inspired by nature's plants (flowers, spices, herbs, woods and fruits).  Fragrance oils are compounded to be safe for use on the skin and for custom-scenting our unscented Bath & Body products.
